BOOK DELAYS

I’m sorry, but I need to jump in here with a Transparent Drawing book delivery update. This is prompted by a reader who just wrote to me saying that they canceled their order with Amazon, as they were sick and tired of getting a constant string of e-mails saying that the book has been delayed yet again.

Drawing Mode (possibly new) which centers on Automorphism. Smells Like Malic Moulds!

I realize there are others who are frustrated by this continual, and at this point, what seems to be an unending slide in the US shipment date.

I don’t understand the book publishing industry. As I have written to my publisher, it would seem that they would be doing everything possible to ship the books, because when that happens, they get paid.

Now, I realize that my title is a drop in the bucket for them. I’m sure that they are monitoring the shipping / delivery / logistics on hundreds of titles. And very likely, most of those will sell better than mine. So I have no doubt that mine is on the back burner.

Still, according to the publisher, Black Dog Press in the UK, the reason for this recent slide spate is that the book had been listed at the wrong price on Amazon US. The price used to be $39.95. Now it is $34.95. The reason for this “price reduction” is that the price printed on the book is indeed $34.95. This discrepancy triggered a hold on the title which was generated by the US distributor. And it took a few months to get that sorted out. This is Rocket Science, folks.

I don’t have my copies either, if that is any consolation. If I did, I would be happy to send disgruntled readers a copy myself.

At any rate, my humble thanks to any and all who have pre ordered my book. I truly hope that the expectation of receiving the book does not exceed the actual usefulness that I trust the book with give you.

The disgruntled reader mentioned above very kindly asked me to e-mail them once the book actually ships: they said they will re-oreder

Peace.
